Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). When she moved to Oxfordshire when she was five, she enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she made the decision to pursue a career as an actress. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. As part of a school production and the stage of a Stagecoach Production, Emma was her role as lead actress at 10 and performed. The casting process began in 1999 to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford Theatre instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been chosen for these characters. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. It also was the film that was most popular in 2001. Its opening days and weekends of sales were record-breaking. Film critics praised the film as well as the performance of three young stars. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma's performance was recognized and won five awards later in the film.
