Matthew Matt James born in North Carolina 5 December 1991. James is the father of Manny and Patty James and is of mixed race. He has an Nigerian father and a Caucasian mother. When he graduated of Sanderson High School, in 2010 he enrolled at Wake Forest University and obtained an Economics Bachelor's Degree. James gained fame after he appeared on screen for his first appearance as a reality star in The Bachelorette. James was chosen in 2020 as the new bachelor in The Bachelor season 25, being the show's debut African American male star. The series premiered later that year. James is the perfect choice for the role, since he's rounded, tall and has good humor. Rachael Krokconnell won the competition by allowing James to establish an intimate relationship with her. He teamed up with the popular professional dancer Arnold in 2021 and competed in season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James and Arnold finished 12th.
